Fairfax Gareth Hughes MDG is a fantastic mono-flap deep-seat dressage saddle designed alongside team GB rider Gareth Hughes. In 2023, the Fairfax Gareth was remodelled and renamed the Fairfax Petrus. Fairfax is a world-renowned saddle manufacturer of high-quality adjustable saddles, and a vast amount of research and testing goes into designing them. All Fairfax saddles offer the option to adjust the width by changing the gullet bar in the saddle. The Fairfax Gareth Hughes saddles are on Fairfax’s revolutionary Performance Panels, which have been scientifically proven to increase limb extension, joint flexion, and gait symmetry. The large surface knee block on the Gareth offers the rider support whilst the seat is slightly more forward than many dressage saddles to ensure the rider is aligned over the horse’s centre of balance. The Gareth Hughes Dressage works well on many standard wither profile horses. The Fairfax Gareth takes the R-Bars, which are adjustable from Narrow Medium up to Extra Wide – Extra Extra Wide.
